Meet the Owner

Sensei Joseph S. Harrison

Owner, Founder and Head Instructor

I started HMA not only because of my passion for martial arts, but mainly because I saw a real lack of education, experience, depth of knowledge and wisdom behind too many instructors, teachers and business owners. What separates HMA from so many martial arts schools, instructors and systems is that we are passionate about promoting and developing the individual before any established style or system out there today. This continuing personal development and the refining of personal education is far more important than ego, tradition or any dogma’s which plague martial arts today. The only way to be a leader, a great leader in anything is to keep learning. Our students are simply better because of how we care and treat them.

-Joe Harrison
