WHAT IS HARRISON MARTIAL ARTS?

H.M.A. is a Specialized Integrated Martial Arts Training Program; a comprehensive system of counter offensive combat training, fitness, self defense tactics and advanced mental and physical development all backed by more than 25 years of research, experience and science!

We specialize in: Tactical Training (LEO/MIL), Fitness, Self Defense, Public Safety, School Safety, Family Safety and Personal Development.

Our goal is to vastly improve and educate the mental, emotional and physical lives of everyone we meet through the medium of Martial Arts, Self Defense and Tactical Development.

THE SCIENCE AND BENEFITS OF H.M.A.

HMA is also a state of the art cognitive developmental and physical training program which utilizes the 4 ranges of combat and other various forms of martial arts to increase physical health and wellness, mental aptitude, attention span, brain efficiency (executive function), emotional health and stability, mental health and stability, everyday awareness, peace of mind and personal safety–as well as increased physical, perceptual and visual speed for athletes of all types. This is done by training the mind and the body in various systems of martial arts which train and enable higher brain function and aptitude to occur more regularly at a higher level. 

One of the many systems we utilize to achieve this process is a martial art called KALI; a system of Filipino martial arts which is widely known for its use of weapons, tools and progressive flow drills. Kali has been made widely popular in many blockbuster Hollywood films and TV series such as; Netflix’s Daredevil, The Bourne Identity trilogy, Jack Reacher, The Arrow TV series, and many more!

According to a movement research study done by Dr. Adele Diomand, a Professor of Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, which found that bi-manual coordination, rhythmic motion and frequently crossing the mid-line of the body, as well as hand eye coordination were particularly valuable when researching executive cognitive function in the brain. KALI is one of the most well-known and few systems in the world to effectively encompass all of these physical and mental aspects, thereby improving one’s executive cognitive function, mental aptitude, processing speed and physical prowess.
